About the role

At Kabam, we’re constantly raising the bar of excellence in free-to-play gaming. We hire for passion and diversity so that we can triumph in our collective skill. Our teams are made up of a fusion of personalities and interests bound together by a collaborative nature, fun-loving culture, and a drive to do what it takes to make great games. And this is where you come in… The Opportunity: This is an opportunity to join a new publishing initiative at Kabam and learn the videogame business from the inside, with hands-on experience shaping the content marketing strategy for upcoming games on PC and Console. You’ll work cross-functionally in close partnership with the Product Marketing Manager and Community teams while reporting to the Principal Product Manager. Most importantly, this is a role with real ownership. You’ll have the chance to take projects from idea to execution, make a measurable impact on a game’s performance, and see the results of your work in the real world. We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, curious, and eager to challenge assumptions. Someone who wants to find new and non-traditional ways to grow a game through organic content, community driven growth and creative marketing tactics. The Content Marketing Co-Op is responsible for helping plan and execute growth strategies for our games, with a heavy focus on organic social content. This person will bring fresh ideas for how to market games organically and will own the execution of the tactics that drive growth. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running by creating content, capturing gameplay, and experimenting with new ways to reach players and generate excitement. You'll combine creativity, market research, and insights from successful campaigns across gaming and beyond.

This is a hands-on, creative, and entrepreneurial role. The ideal candidate is a genuine gamer who understands content and social media, isn’t afraid to try things, and treats the growth of a game as their own personal mission. This role is a 4 month contract from September to December, fully on-site based at our Downtown Vancouver studio. \n

In this role, you can expect to: Content planning and execution: Propose, plan, and execute a content strategy with guidance from senior teammates, designed to increase awareness and engagement for our games. Run growth experiments end-to-end, from idea to execution to measuring results. Track the performance of initiatives and share what’s working, what isn’t, and what to try next. Play and record gameplay to capture footage and screenshots for use in marketing content. Create engaging social content tailored to each platform (eg; Tiktok, IG, Youtube, Reddit, X, etc.) Maintain a content calendar and keep a steady, organized pipeline of content flowing. Market Research: Analyze successful game launches to understand what content and social media engagement opportunities are resonating with players and how other publishers are creating awareness and engagement for their games. Track upcoming games and study how they’re being brought to market, looking for new and creative ways to build awareness for our games through content and community initiatives. Project Management: Keep track of all the projects happening across multiple projects and initiatives. Communicate proactively with all stakeholders on their deadlines and deliverables. Keep your own projects organized and aligned with other initiatives, milestones and deadlines. Coordinate the scheduling and execution of internal playtests to ensure timely delivery of high-quality feedback. Oversee task completion and deadlines, maintaining clear communication with team members. Manage all logistical aspects of testing projects, including creating write-ups, handling assets, and liaising with points of contact for translations. Stakeholder Coordination: Engage with internal stakeholders as needed, including managers and senior team members. Ensure effective communication and coordinate information between project teams and other departments.

To be successful in this role, your background includes: Working towards a Bachelor’s degree. Basic understanding of spreadsheet applications (Excel, Google Sheets). Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally on a cross functional team. Passion for video games, with broad industry knowledge and experience playing a variety of genres is strongly preferred. Experience creating content is a must, including video/image editing, gameplay capturing (preference for candidates with cinematic gameplay capture abilities), copywriting and a strong understanding of how different social media platforms work.

Perks of being a Kabam intern: Our success is due to the hard work of our people. We share our success with our people through flexible benefits and reward programs, sweet swag, snacks, and more.
