Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
The Sessional Instructor will be responsible for a half credit course in the area of Managerial Economics (PUAD 5130) offered to students in the first year of the Master of Public Administration program during the Fall Term (September to December 2026).
This course will be held on Mondays from 1735 – 2025 with the tutorial on Wednesdays 175 – 2025. The instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class and be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. There may be additional course-related administration following the end of the course.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
A master’s degree in public administration or a related field and recent or current experience at the executive level within government departments is required. A Ph.D. in the area of Public Administration or related field will be an asset. Previous university-level teaching at the master’s level is required as is demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the Master’s level.
Preference will also be given to applicants who hold or have recently held positions at the executive level within government departments and to people with demonstrated experience and/or expertise in managerial economics in the public sector.
Salary Range/Pay Rate
$8,260 per course (In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement)
