Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
This position will provide general support to various services in the Community and Family Services setting of a Ministry Unit.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties.

  • As directed, support pre-planned program activities for the community (food bank, crafts, sports, games, music, homework stations, Bible-based devotions, community church, meetings etc.).
  • Work in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities.
  • Provide general administrative support greeting visitors, supporting reception, forwarding visitors, etc.
  • Provide general assistance during public relations events and regular campaigns.
  • Maintain strict confidentially of all matters pertaining to the program participants.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures relating to the programs.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This is an 8 week-term position.
  • Work schedules may vary from week to week in terms of hours worked but will fall within Monday to Friday (no weekends).
  • This job requires the ability to stand for long periods with frequent twisting, bending, crouching, and reaching is required; the ability to lift/move 25 pounds. Accepting all kinds of donations, receiving food donations and restocking shelves with food items.
  • There will be summer children’s events and those will require movement, and a level of physical activity.
  • The incumbent must take the following precautionary measures in addition to health and safety rules and regulations such as universal precautions, i.e., wearing gloves when working with unknown content, and being self-aware of their physical abilities
  • Some occasional travel is associated with this position. Required to use a program vehicle when available. A Drivers Abstract may be needed

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Submit as required a Police Record Check (vulnerable sector check) that is acceptable to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion if applicable.

This is a temporary full time position.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $17.00 to $18.08 with a maximum of $21.69.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
