About the role
Industrial Electrician
Atlantic Operations is a wholly owned subsidiary of St Barbara Limited, an ASX listed gold producer and explorer with mining assets in Canada and Australia.
We are currently seeking 2 Industrial Electricians to support our Atlantic Operations. These roles are full time, max-term positions, reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, and will be based at our Touquoy mine site located approximately 1-hour northeast of Halifax, near Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia.
The Opportunity:
- Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.
- Promoting & fostering Company goals & objectives with all maintenance activities.
- Applying all applicable regulations, codes and corporate/site standards to all maintenance activities.
- Identifying safety issues and encourage a site safe work culture with safety being top priority.
- Inspecting and maintaining equipment for proper performance and safety compliance.
- Maintaining crushers, ball mill and process plant equipment.
- Ensuring preventive maintenance is carried out in timely manner.
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment as required.
- Familiar with variable frequency drives, PLC systems, medium voltage switchgear and motor controls.
- Managing effective use of available resources, including own time, in support of the delivery of the Mill Processing & maintenance team/crew.
Our successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Unencumbered Class 5 driver's license.
- Journeyman Red Seal Certification
- At least 5 years relevant industrial experience
- Committed to Continuous Improvement and Reliability Cantered Maintenance
- Prepared to discuss complex problems and solutions in a team environment
- A personal commitment to behaviour consistent with St Barbara's Values including honesty and integrity, respect, working together, delivering to promise and striving to do better.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.
- Previous experience in a mineral processing mill, industrial plant or similar is an asset.
