Date Posted: 07/13/2026Req ID: 49358Faculty/Division: Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical EducationDepartment: Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical EducationCampus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Existing Vacancy: Yes   Description:Course No. and Title:   Writing Instructor: Health Sciences Writing Centre (HSWC)   Course Enrollment:   N/A   Estimated Number of Hours:   80 hours   Duties:   To provide individual writing instruction to undergraduate and graduate students within the Faculties of Kinesiology & Physical Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Instruction will address disciplinary writing conventions in the health sciences, with a focus on organization, reasoning, style, language use, and academic integrity. Writing Instructors are also expected to engage in teaching writing workshops, liaise with faculty on assignment expectations, and contribute to professional development within the Writing Centre.   Qualifications:    Completed graduate degree from a post-secondary institution is necessary, with a doctoral degree in a related field preferred. Candidates should possess demonstrated skills for teaching academic writing across a variety of health sciences disciplines. Previous experience teaching writing to university students and familiarity with the uses of Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models in writing pedagogy are preferred. Experience in health sciences or social science writing instruction at the university level is preferred.    Dates of Appointment   September 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027   The following rates of pay are applicable:  

$56.46 per hour + 4% vacation pay (Writing Instructor 1) $60.69 per hour + 4% vacation pay (Writing Instructor 2) $62.48 per hour + 4% vacation pay (Writing Instructor 2 priority)
