TIRE TECHNICIAN

 

Temporary long term – UNIONIZED

Position to fill 1

Code MM26-15

Hourly rate between $44.56 and $50.36

The work location is in Nunavik and the normal work schedule is 11 hours per day on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.

Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Tire Technician performs tasks while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental rules in the workplace. His main tasks include:

  • Monitoring tires;
  • Performing tire repairs;
  • Conducting tire rotations;
  • Carrying out any other related tasks associated with the position.

 

Qualifications 

  • Hold a High School Diploma.
  • Have 2 to 5 years of experience in tire repair.
  • Basic knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics.
  • Experience in large-scale tire maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose wear and premature tire damage.
  • Valid Class 3 or 1 driver's license.

 

Assets 

  • Experience in the mining industry.
  • Vocational Diploma (DEP) in Construction Equipment Mechanics. 
  • Due to frequent interactions with French-speaking team members, bilingualism (French/English) is an asset to facilitate and enhance our internal communications.
