About the Role:
Cobalt Construction Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction, is seeking a Fuel & Lube Technician to support our fleet of heavy equipment and construction vehicles across multiple job sites in the Yukon. This hands-on, field-based role is critical to ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in remote environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Fuel, grease, and service heavy equipment, trucks, and small engines in the field

Perform routine preventative maintenance including fluid checks, top-ups, oil changes, and filter replacements

Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, and potential issues; report deficiencies to mechanics and supervisors

Maintain accurate daily records of fueling, servicing, and inspections

Operate and maintain service trucks, ensuring safe transport and handling of fuel and lubricants

Coordinate with site supervisors, operators, and maintenance teams to prioritize servicing needs

Assist with equipment mobilization, yard organization, and general labour tasks as required

Follow all company safety policies and environmental regulations, including proper spill prevention and response

Maintain a clean and organized work environment both in the field and in service vehicles
Qualifications & Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role or servicing heavy equipment preferred

Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 with air brakes is a strong asset)

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Ability to work independently in remote locations and changing weather conditions

Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing labour-intensive tasks

Basic knowledge of hydraulic, fuel, and lubrication systems is an asset

Experience in road construction or heavy civil environments

WHMIS, TDG, First Aid, or other safety certifications (training can be provided)

Experience operating service trucks in off-road conditions
Working Schedule & Details:

Field-based role with travel to various job sites throughout the Yukon

Camp-based work with provided accommodations and meals

Long hours, overtime, and occasional weekend work required
