Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
BIOA3003 Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy is a course overseen by the Chair of the Department of Animal Science and Aquaculture. The Part-time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the lectures, including test preparation and evaluation. Lectures are currently scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday from 0835am to 0955am, in the Fall Term 2026 (September – December).
Course description: An introduction to comparative anatomy. Emphasis is placed on analyzing vertebrate structure. Comparisons of form and function within the Vertebrata are discussed with an evolutionary perspective. This is supplemented in the laboratory by detailed dissections of representative vertebrates.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Minimum requirement of an MSc. in the area of expertise, with a minimum of two years’ experience. Demonstrated teaching experience required in a post-secondary level environment, with experience in animal sciences. A PhD in the area of expertise would be an asset, as well as previous experience in supervising students.
