About the role
Overland Interiors designs and builds custom interiors for the overland and vanlife communities. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Summer Woodworking Assistant to join our small, hands-on team in Dundas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student or emerging craftsperson who wants to gain practical shop experience while contributing to unique, high-quality projects. Students studying woodworking, cabinet making, furniture design, furniture manufacturing, industrial design, or a related program are especially encouraged to apply.
You do not need to know everything on your first day. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes pride in their work, and brings a positive, solutions-focused attitude to the shop.
Responsibilities Working alongside our team, you will assist with a variety of woodworking and general shop activities, including: Sanding, preparing, and finishing wood components Assisting with the fabrication and assembly of custom interior components Measuring, cutting, and preparing materials Gluing and assembling laminated panels Safely using woodworking tools and equipment, including a table saw, based on your training and experience Helping package and prepare finished products for shipping Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe Supporting other production and shop tasks as needed
Qualifications You’ll be a great fit if you Are reliable, punctual, and able to follow through on commitments Can work independently once you have been shown what to do Are comfortable receiving direction, asking questions, and applying feedback Approach challenges with a positive, solution-focused attitude Take initiative and look for productive ways to help when a task is complete Care about safety, accuracy, and quality Enjoy building things and learning through hands-on work Are able to safely lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lb (23 kg) as part of regular shop duties Can reliably commute to our workshop in Dundas, Ontario
Previous woodworking, cabinetmaking, construction, manufacturing, or general shop experience is an asset, but it is not required. Relevant coursework, personal projects, and a genuine interest in the craft are also valuable. A valid Ontario G driver’s licence is considered an asset but is not required.

Position details Term: Summer contract to start ASAP - September 4th, with the possibility of an extension into the fall Location: Dundas, Ontario - in person Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Hours: 24 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours as needed Pay: $20.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
