This is an outstanding opportunity to join a leading Canadian company with a clear vision and focus. As a Finance Student Co-op student you will experience the diverse aspects of Finance. You will work both independently and, in a team, to help build, create and support promotions for our banners. You will work closely with the category management team to ensure our financial metrics are being met. There will be opportunities to be exposed to how category plans are built and gain a true understanding of the stem to stern process. You will ensure data is clean and that information is correctly updated in the system. You will also work with our operations team to varying degrees. Here's where you’ll be focusing Build and update financial models in Excel to support budgeting and forecasting decisions Extract and organize financial data from SAP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and readiness for analysis Track forecasting accuracy and identify insights to improve future financial plans Utilize Excel and emerging AI tools to generate insights and recommend ways to strengthen forecasting processes Support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities by delivering clear, actionable outputs based on financial analysis What you have to offer Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline Strong proficiency in Excel, with an interest in building financial models Experience working with data and attention to detail to ensure accuracy Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate insights Interest in forecasting, financial planning, and continuous improvement Ability to clearly present findings and collaborate with team members What we have to offer Hands-on exposure to forecasting, reporting, and financial operations in a large organization Direct involvement in financial modeling, data analysis, and planning processes Guidance from experienced finance professionals Opportunities to understand how finance supports broader business decisions Build capabilities in financial analysis, Excel modeling, and data-driven decision making Collaborative team culture focused on learning and growth Experience that can support future roles within Sobeys Who we are Sobeys is one of Canada’s leading grocery retailers, with more than 1,600 stores across all 10 provinces and banners including Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Foodland, FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, and Lawtons Drug Stores.
