Quality Assurance Technician Location : Creemore, ON 6-month contract

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • Post-secondary degree/diploma in natural sciences (microbiology, biochemistry, food science, etc.) • Proven track record of meeting production, quality, and safety standards

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of microbiology and chemistry • Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, calibration and troubleshooting • Knowledge of basic statistical methods and computer skills • Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills • Strong organizational, time management and planning skills • Experience with problem solving techniques • Must exhibit flexibility to respond to frequent changes in production requirements • Proven attention to detail

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform microbiological, chemical, physical and sensory analysis on raw materials, in-process and finished product samples.
2. Interpret, analyze, validate, and report quality data clearly and consistently.
3. Monitor, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
4. Perform administrative duties, including data entry.
5. Support adherence to quality system standards and requirements
6. Other duties as assigned.
