Your Opportunity:
The Intensive Outreach and Diversion Team in Lethbridge is looking for an experienced, skilled, enthusiastic and dynamic team member to fill the position of a Mental Health Therapist. This position will work with individuals with complex mental health and addiction issues and will be responsible for the delivery of a continuum of treatment services within the Outreach program. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment planning and implementation. This person will be required to perform restricted psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities to persons experiencing significant addiction and/or mental health difficulties as needed. The successful candidate will work clients in all of the programs within Intensive Outreach and Diversion. The successful candidate will maintain accurate and appropriate documentation on client files in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with strong organizational skills and have a demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, and the ability to create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. This person will have the proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs will be considered: Bachelor of Social Work including training and considerable experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have the authorization to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention. Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or, a) Related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or b) considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Diploma or bachelor's degree in nursing with a) related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or b) considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Authorization to do restricted mental health psychosocial intervention is required. Previous experience in a Community Mental Health and Addiction setting performing addiction and mental health assessments and provision of psychotherapy required. The incumbent must have extensive knowledge of Community Treatment Orders and the Mental Health Act. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Mental Health and addiction setting performing addiction and mental health assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of resources within Mental Health and Addiction services & experience with clients with complex addiction & mental health issues. Experience in working collaboratively with allied health professionals, physicians, psychiatrists, and community agencies. Previous outreach experience preferred.
