About the role

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Specialty Clinic Clerk to support the Specialty Clinic department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position performs clerical support functions for physicians such as booking/scheduling appointments, record/file management, typing/data entry, telephone answering and ordering supplies.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12, two years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to deal with others effectively.

  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

  • Ability to organize work.

  • Ability to operate related equipment.
