Description: Course Description: LAN3025 builds on past Visual Communication courses and explores themes of media creation in the pursuit of site investigation of each student’s individual selected site. While course deliverables remain focused on the development of static, dynamic, and auditory media, the discussions and assignments will strongly parallel that of concurrent LAN3051. Enrollment: 150 Class Schedule: TU 09:00-12:00 Sessional Dates of Appointment: September 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026 Hours of Work: 90 Salary: $55.25/hourly SIA rate *Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a professional Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree (mandatory).Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of building science, as well as applied experience in occupant-centered architecture, and thermal comfort. Applicants must demonstrate formal graduate-level training in architecture, with strong competency in environmental systems, building performance, construction technologies, and integrated building systems. Prior experience as an instructor in lecture-based and studio-based architectural courses is required. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to deliver technical content within design studio environments. Professional experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems coordination & integration is required. Candidates must also have proven design experience in both residential and commercial architecture projects. Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with applied professional experience in civil, architectural, and utility coordination workflows are strongly preferred.
Experience advising architecture or engineering firms on systems integration strategies and supporting design implementation is considered a strong asset.
Candidates with experience producing detailed as-built and/or permit ready drawings will be viewed favorably.
Leadership experience in professional and/or academic settings is an asset.
Familiarity with contemporary architectural practice is strongly preferred.
Evidence of the ability to contribute to curriculum development, studio instruction, and applied research in building performance or integrated design will be considered an advantage.
Description of Duties: Prepare, organize, and teach this course; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work.
