Location: Multiple opportunities across Atlantic Canada and Ontario Term: Full-time Fall Student Placement from September 15 to December 15 About the Opportunity This Fall student opportunity is ideal for a motivated individual who is currently completing, or has recently completed, studies in information technology, computer science, software development, information systems, quality assurance, or another related technical program. As a Student - Automation with the Automation team, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting test automation and software quality activities in a collaborative environment. The role will provide exposure to automation frameworks, API testing using Postman, basic SQL, Git/GitLab, and practical software delivery practices that help support reliable, efficient, and high-quality application releases. Role Overview The Student - Automation will support the Automation team by assisting with the development, maintenance, and execution of automated test scripts. This role is a learning-focused opportunity where the student will help validate application functionality, identify defects, improve test coverage, and contribute to activities that support the delivery of reliable and high-quality software. The successful candidate should demonstrate: Foundational technical knowledge in areas such as Git/GitLab, SQL basics, and API testing with Postman Programming aptitude and an interest in learning test automation tools such as WebdriverIO Analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail Growth mindset and openness to learning new tools, including AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and cross-functional partners As a Fall student, you will work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real projects, and gain practical experience that supports your academic learning and career development. What You’ll Bring We’re looking for students who are: Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a post-secondary program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, Information Systems, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field. Curious, motivated, and eager to learn in a professional environment Collaborative team players with strong communication skills Comfortable working with technical concepts and open to learning automation, testing, and software delivery practices Aligned with Medavie values and committed to making a positive impact Bilingualism in English and French may be considered an asset, depending on location and team needs.
