Rate (CAD): Up to $39.00 per hour / Commensurate with related experience and market competitiveness

Term: 6 months (2026-06-08 to 2026-11-30) with 6-month extension available (up to 12-month contract)

Hours per day: 7.25

Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) Intermediate Administrative Assistant (Executive Support) to join our talented Service Delivery team at the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services (Government of Alberta).

WORK MODEL: The successful contractor(s) will work onsite at the J.E. Brownlee Building, 10365 97 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to apply (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident). Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 with a 1 hour lunch break Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

PROJECT OVERVIEW / DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Administrative Assistant:
Modernization, Information Management Technology, and Research Branch in the Public Safety and Emergency Services ministry is seeking an experienced administrative assistant to provide day-to-day support to a fast-paced team. This role supports managers and staff through a range of administrative, financial, and coordination activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (formatting, tracking, document production)
  • Experience managing invoices, expenses, and basic financial processes
  • Proven ability to organize meetings, events, and logistics (including room bookings and coordination)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Experience with records management (digital and physical)
  • Ability to produce accurate, well-formatted documents and identify errors prior to finalization

Asset Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting a government or public sector environment
  • Familiarity with financial or administrative systems (e.g., expense processing, invoice tracking tools)
  • Experience preparing professional documents, briefing materials, or memos
  • Strong meeting support skills (agenda prep, minute-taking, follow-ups)
  • Experience working in a data, analytical, or technical team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and proactively support leadership

MANDATORY SKILLS

– Relevant post-secondary education in the area of office administration. Acceptable education includes degrees, diplomas and certificates (in years). (Yes or No)
– Experience with organizing business events, coordinating meetings and book rooms as required. (2 years+)
– Supporting the Executive Director with calendar management, email management, and meetings. (1 years+)

DESIRABLE / NICE TO HAVE SKILLS

– Strong meeting support skills (agenda prep, minute-taking, follow-ups). (2 years+)
– Experience in records and document management, with a strong understanding of the records life cycle for both physical and electronic formats within information systems. (1 years+)
– Experience creating PowerPoint presentations. (2 years+)
– Experience proofing and formatting word documents in a work setting. (2 years+)
– Experience with and knowledge of financial reporting ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements, and using Microsoft Excel. (2 years+)
– Experience with processing and reviewing expenses. (1 years+)
– Experience working in a data, analytical, or technical team environment. (1 years+)
– Experience working in a Government development environment or in an environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta. (2 years+)
