Nature of Employment Full-time (35 hours/week) Contract, 1 year, with possibility of renewal

Reporting to Manager, Education and Prevention

Location Remote in Ontario, with some travel required

Compensation and Leave $57,800/annually Four weeks’ vacation (20 days) + Twenty Paid sick days per year

Organization Overview The Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres (OCRCC) is a network of 30+ English-language sexual assault centres in Ontario. Our members offering counselling, information and support services to survivors of sexual violence, including sexual harassment, human trafficking, childhood sexual abuse and incest. Role Summary The OCRCC is seeking a Public Education Coordinator to advance province-wide strategies that address the root causes of sexual and gender-based violence. Working in collaboration with the Manager of Education and Prevention this role strengthens the sector’s collective capacity to delver evidence-informed prevention, public education and community engagement initiatives. The Coordinator will lead the development, coordination and implementation of prevention programming and sector-wide projects in partnership with member agencies and community partners. This is an opportunity to support member agencies, including frontline workers, to enhance shared learning across the province, and contribute to a unified, survivor-centred approach to preventing sexual violence in Ontario. Key Responsibilities Public Education Work closely with the Manager of Education and Prevention to coordinate Sexual Assault Awareness Month and other provincial education campaigns, working on design and development of program materials (i.e. posters, social media, emails, and other outreach materials); Coordinate and design program materials for public education initiatives, including workshops, resources and training materials for member agencies; Support committees, coalitions, and outreach opportunities to raise awareness about the Coalition; and Track, evaluate, and report on the impact and reach of public education initiatives, including contributing to membership and funding reports.

Communications Support the OCRCC’s social media channels, website, and newsletter; Support distribution of promotional materials to member agencies and other relevant spaces; Develop and maintain lists of organizations, social channels, and relevant networks to promote Coalitions campaigns and advocacy work; Maintain a list of community resources and supports available for survivors; and Respond to incoming inquiries, reach outs, including providing survivors who contact the Coalition with timely, compassionate, warm referrals to local support options; Membership Coordination Coordinate communications with OCRCC’s member agencies, including management of listservs and job board, etc.; Support administration and logistics for all membership meetings, including coordinating registration processes; Support in administrative tasks, as required and needed. Other Attend staff meetings, membership meetings, and training sessions, as required; Participate in program planning, Coalition committees, and evaluation, as required; Work collaboratively alongside other staff, executive members, Board Members of the Coalition; Abide by all policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the Coalition; and Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Degree in a relevant field OR equivalent combination of training; Minimum of two years in a similar or progressive position; Design skills, capacity to create graphics for social media, newsletters, reports, etc. Skills Demonstrated commitment and awareness of the organization’s mission and values, including a commitment to centering anti-oppression, anti-racist feminist perspectives; Comprehensive understanding of the issues and complexities of the impact of gender-based violence and sexual violence; Digital communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate gender-based violence and sexual violence issues into accessible content; Proficiency in digital content creation, including graphics and social media assets (samples welcomed); Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with others to translate complex information into clear, engaging content; Able to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including member organizations, funders, government officials, and community partners; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently; Ability to create short videos is an asset; and Bilingualism is an asset. Other Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required. Able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
