Beacon Hill Public School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the role of Physical Education and Wellness Teacher.

Requirements: Bachelor of Education Degree Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Comply with guidelines for practice, including developmental guidance instruction, individual student planning, responsive services, and school/community support systems.
  • Experience teaching in an Elementary setting, with knowledge of neurodivergent and English Language Learners.
  • Physical Education and Wellness experience/knowledge of the Physical Education and Wellness curriculum.
  • Recognize the importance of making a strong, positive connection with all students, through classroom interactions as well as involvement with students outside the classroom. (ie. clubs and teams).
  • Possess the ability to develop and collaborate with effective teams made of teachers, educational assistants, parents and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Familiarity with Healthy Schools Policy/Apple Schools
  • Participate in staff development, professional learning communities and other meetings as appropriate
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Assessment for Learning, Literacy and Differentiated Instruction practices.
  • Effective organizational skills and classroom management skills are imperative.
  • A strong ability to build relationships with Elementary school students.
  • Strong technology skills, with knowledge of Google Platform applications and PowerSchool are an asset.
