Beacon Hill Public School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the role of Physical Education and Wellness Teacher.
Requirements: Bachelor of Education Degree Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Comply with guidelines for practice, including developmental guidance instruction, individual student planning, responsive services, and school/community support systems.
- Experience teaching in an Elementary setting, with knowledge of neurodivergent and English Language Learners.
- Physical Education and Wellness experience/knowledge of the Physical Education and Wellness curriculum.
- Recognize the importance of making a strong, positive connection with all students, through classroom interactions as well as involvement with students outside the classroom. (ie. clubs and teams).
- Possess the ability to develop and collaborate with effective teams made of teachers, educational assistants, parents and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Familiarity with Healthy Schools Policy/Apple Schools
- Participate in staff development, professional learning communities and other meetings as appropriate
- Knowledge and familiarity with Assessment for Learning, Literacy and Differentiated Instruction practices.
- Effective organizational skills and classroom management skills are imperative.
- A strong ability to build relationships with Elementary school students.
- Strong technology skills, with knowledge of Google Platform applications and PowerSchool are an asset.
