This includes shaping ideas, coordinating work, developing materials for decision-making, and helping assess program effectiveness.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable working in a changing environment, able to connect information from different sources, and focused on turning insights into clear, practical actions. This role requires someone strong in project management, problem solving, relationship management, and supporting strategic program improvements.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Help plan and lead brainstorming sessions for program development, including preparing materials and guiding discussions.
  • Draft program and project plans, set timelines, and create tools to measure progress and results.
  • Identify possible impacts on people, processes, and systems, as well as any policy or legal considerations.
  • Track and report on program progress, flagging any issues and suggesting solutions.
  • Research best practices and summarize findings for review.

2. Build partnerships with the Ministry of Labour (MOL) and health and safety groups

  • Represent the WSIB on committees led by the MOL and Health and Safety Associations (HSAs) to address key issues and develop action plans.
  • Share expertise on WSIB programs, policies, and the WSIA to help guide projects.
  • Develop strong relationships with partners, manage ongoing issues, and report potential concerns to your manager.

3. Work with Workplace Health and Safety Services (WHSS) and internal teams

  • Keep WHSS management updated on key meetings and outcomes.
  • Meet regularly with WSIB health and safety teams to stay informed about program needs.
  • Recommend ways to align programs with the MOL’s priorities and the WSIB’s strategic direction.
  • Gather information to help create marketing plans and boost program awareness.

4. Support marketing and communication efforts

  • Work with the Communications Health and Safety Business Partner to develop and evaluate marketing plans.
  • Identify effective channels to share information and create compelling messages for employers.
  • Offer advice on program design and highlight partnership opportunities to increase program reach.
  • Help assess marketing success by tracking participation and gathering feedback from employers.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working on projects, programs, or initiatives in complex setting and experience engaging with stakeholders (Program Management or Project Management (PMP) certifications are an asset but not required)
  • Experience with managing Health & Safety Programs, or Health and Safety and/or disability management professional designation are considered assets but not required.
