This is a 1-year contract and or internal secondment opportunity.

We’re seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Manager, Customer Segments to lead growth across two priority segments: the Canadian Defence Community (CDC) and Retirement life stage. In this role, you will own and deepen partnerships, translate customer insight into targeted value propositions, and deliver sustainable growth through segment-specific strategies and programs. This is a high-impact role that blends partner management, customer strategy, and execution excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Partner Strategy & Management

  • Build and lead robust partnerships with organizations serving the CDC and retirement-focused networks
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic alliances that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention
  • Act as the primary relationship owner, ensuring mutual value creation and long-term success

Segment Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and execute growth strategies for CDC and retirement life stage segments, aligned with broader customer segmentation priorities
  • Translate customer insights into actionable initiatives that address evolving needs across life stages
  • Define segment-specific value propositions, offers, and experiences

Customer Experience & Value Proposition

  • Champion the voice of the customer across internal teams
  • Design tailored solutions that reflect unique financial needs
  • Continuously refine segment strategies using data, feedback, and market trends

Program Delivery & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end execution of partner-driven programs and campaigns
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver seamless experiences
  • Track and report on key performance metrics

Budget Management

  • Oversee budget allocations
  • Manage sponsorship investments across national and regional properties
  • Monitor monthly non-interest (NIX) expenditures

Insights & Performance Management

  • Monitor segment performance, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization
  • Use data and analytics to inform decisions and measure impact of partnerships and campaigns
  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in customer strategy, segment management, partnerships, or business development
  • Customer-first mindset with a focus on delivering meaningful, tailored experiences
  • Strong experience in partner/relationship management and external stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to drive customer acquisition and growth initiatives
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans
  • Ability to balance strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Advanced influencing skills and ability to work across multiple stakeholders
  • Data-driven mindset with comfort using metrics to guide decisions
  • Knowledge of CDC and Retirement Life Stage segments is a strong asset
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills

Salary :

$75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Salaried

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
